M-sequence based short range radars have some decisive advantages compared to other approaches in the UWB frequency range. Correlation is performed in the digital domain, sampling is absolutely equidistant and due to steep clock slopes, jitter is kept low. Hence, a large dynamic range is made accessible by those sensor electronics.
With respect to array operation, the latter is currently confined by cross-talk between array elements. To alleviate this problem, a feedback-concept has been introduced in which a digitally calculated prediction signal is provided to the input amplifier by a DAC and subtracted from the input signal. Within the project, we develop the input amplifier which is also responsible for signal subtraction.
